In response to the escalating weather warnings, the town of Bagnacavallo has ordered a complete evacuation of the Traversara, Borghetto di Traversara, and Boncellino areas.
This precautionary measure comes as the region braces for severe weather conditions, with the alert level raised to red in parts of Emilia-Romagna, including the Bologna and Ravenna provinces.
These areas have already been significantly impacted by floods on September 19. Francesco Ravagli, the public works assessor, emphasized the importance of prevention, stating that while severe issues are not expected overnight, it is better to be safe.
Residents unable to find shelter with friends or family will be accommodated in the local sports hall.
